The fashion blogging industry is currently exploding like never before. Its growth in numbers is not only climbing, but also the influence it has on the industry. Fashion icon Karen Kay said, "These days, to have one finger on the fashion pulse, you need to have the other one on your computer mouse, reading (or writing) the latest blogs.” Fashion blogs are, arguably, the leading influence on the fashion industry today. In seeing the success that fashion bloggers are experiencing and knowing my own zest for fashion and design, the birth our new fashion blog was formed.

The Purpose of Let’s Talk Trunk

When dreaming up Let's Talk Trunk, we identified one very important thing all everyday women who find us will have in common; they all have a wardrobe. For some of them, they are proud of the collection they have acquired. For others, it's a work in progress. And for the less fortunate few; they are lost, overwhelmed by options or lack thereof. Whatever their current status with the contents of their wardrobe may be, our vision was to inspire them to care about what is in their trunk, show them how they can maximize what they have and identify what they need.

How To Create and Sustain A Successful Fashion Blog

In order to successfully launch and sustain a fashion blog, I have found three main components to be essential. They must have photography skills themselves or have access to the use of a photographer. The images on any fashion blog are the most important and compelling piece to any fashion blog. It draws the reader in and teaches them, through the image, the writer’s idea of what is currently in style. The second most important component is having the skill or access to a web designer. Because the fashion blog’s main initiative is to grow their web audience, the design of the blog must be aesthetically pleasing and end user friendly. Thirdly, and most obviously, an aspiring fashion blogger must have an educated and unique sense of fashion. People want to learn and adopt new ways to improve their own image. This is the product you are offering your audience in the fashion blogging industry, an opportunity to be inspired and directed toward quality fashion.
